Appointments
In line with all the practices in Wellingborough, appointment requests are made through an online tool called Anima. You can submit medical and admin requests through Anima too. If you are not sure how to use it, ring reception on 01933 423424.
Appointments are face to face or by telephone. We are not able to give a set time for telephone appointments. Most appointments are 10 minutes long, so if you have more than one problem a separate appointment may be needed.
Same day
Same day appointments can be requested through Anima from 7.30am.
Routine
Routine appointments can be booked in advance through Anima. A clinician will triage your request and offer the most suitable appointment.
Home visits
For patients too ill to attend. Request before 10am through Anima as a medical request. Only emergency requests are accepted after this time. We cannot visit outside our catchment area.
Treatment area
Dressings, injections, smear tests, swabs, bloods, blood pressure readings, ECGs and health checks. Pre-book through Anima or call 01933 423424. Our nurses also run travel clinics.
Evenings and weekends
Wellingborough Hub at Albany House Medical Centre, Queen Street, Wellingborough NN8 4RW. 18:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 12:00 weekends and bank holidays. Ask for it when you submit your Anima request.
Hospital blood tests
Blood tests at Nene Park and Isebrook Hospital are by appointment only. Book at www.kgh.nhs.uk or call 01536 494411. Some blood clinics run at the surgery and need booking in advance.
Our team
Our receptionists are trained in care navigation and will ask briefly about your problem so we can direct you to the right person. We have GPs, an Advanced Pharmacist, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Specialist Nurse, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Associate and Health Care Assistant, plus access to Primary Care Network clinicians including physiotherapists, paediatric nurse specialists, pharmacists and paramedics.
Cancelling
If you cannot make your appointment, please cancel in good time through the NHS App, by leaving a message on our answer machine or by speaking to a receptionist.
Prescriptions
Order repeat prescriptions 5 working days before you run out. Requests take two working days to process and are sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy.
How to order
Use your NHS account (the NHS website or the NHS App), or in writing by post, at reception or through our letter box. Please do not use Anima for repeat prescriptions. We cannot take prescription requests by phone.
Prescription line
Open 11am to 3pm. To check if a prescription is ready, please use the NHS App or contact your pharmacy instead.
Medication reviews
Repeat prescriptions need an annual review. The due date is on your prescription and we will remind you nearer the time.
Surgery closed and need medicine urgently? See emergency prescriptions on the NHS website.
Register as a new patient
We are accepting new patient registrations through our online service. Please ring reception on 01933 423424 for the registration link and to check you live in our catchment area.
If you need help when we are closed
- Use NHS 111 online (age 5 and over) or call 111. Call 111 for a child under 5.
- Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency.
- Corby Urgent Care Centre is open 8am to 8pm every day, including bank holidays, for problems too urgent to wait for a GP but not needing A&E. It can treat minor wounds and injuries and has X-ray on site.
- Your local pharmacy can help with coughs, colds, sore throats, tummy trouble and aches and pains. No appointment needed.
